The Vale of White Horse is a picture of Middle England at its very best.
Historically, this South West Oxfordshire region has been of great importance for many thousands of years and is not only home to the Uffington White Horse, from whom it takes its name, it’s also home of one of the oldest and most influential trade links across Southern England, The Ridgeway.
Now a favourite destination for ramblers and walkers, this grassy walk once brought fame, wealth and even the odd highwayman to the area. Thankfully nowadays, this picturesque area is one of the UK’s most peaceful and low crime destinations.
Still dotted with ancient fortes and historic attractions, the vale is now home to picture postcard towns and villages and many successful businesses. Retaining its great transport links, although now via the M4, M40 and A34 and by rail, South West Oxfordshire is one of the most sought after areas to settle down or establish a business in.
With a fantastic selection of schools, colleges, universities and scientific research establishments, education and learning is a big part of Vale history and current life.
Linking Oxford and the Cotswolds, with the river Thames running through its heart, it’s sometimes hard to believe this idyllic location is so easily accessible to major cities and towns.
