Roadside Farm Barn is an exceptional and highly individual Grade II listed character barn, located in the heart of this attractive village and very well placed for access to Swindon, the market towns of Faringdon and Wantage, rail links and M4/A34.
The barn has been skilfully designed and converted to combine the character of the beautiful vaulted roof with its exposed frame and wooden sarking boards, exposed stone, oak flooring and staircases; with the requirements of modern living by way of glazed barn doors and windows, crisp décor and contemporary fittings and lighting.
The living space is predominantly open plan and includes an impressive kitchen/breakfast room which is open to the dining room and has an extensive range of wall and floor mounted units under oak worktops. Integral appliances include a dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer, washing machine and a free standing Rangemaster dual fuel cooking range. A central island unit provides useful additional work space and storage, and divides the kitchen from further space for a breakfast table over which hang triple pendant lights. Through glazed panels, doors lead out to both the front and rear of the barn.
Both the kitchen/breakfast room and dining room have stone flooring, and the separate sitting room an oak floor and doors to the side garden.
The principal bedroom is a self-contained mezzanine from which the effect of the vaulted roof space can be appreciated close up. It has its own staircase, oak flooring and an en suite shower room. A second staircase rises to a further double bedroom, a single bedroom and the family bathroom.
The ground floor has underfloor heating, with radiator heating on the first floor; provided by a gas fired boiler.
There are gardens to front and rear with pedestrian access from Kings Lane and vehicle access from The Green, via a right of way along a private driveway. Gravelled parking for two cars with space for further vehicles close to the main barn doors. The gardens have been laid to lawn and feature post and rail fencing, stone walls and young hedges.
Offered for sale with no onward chain.
